Dance

From a very young age dance has been a huge part of my life. When I was younger I started off trying different sports like soccer, tennis, t-ball, and gymnastics, but dance is what I fell in love with. I was in many different styles of dance ranging from tap, jazz, ballet, modern, and contemporary. I loved dance so much that I decided to be fully committed and joint the dance team at my dance studio. I was on this dance team for a couple years before being invited to join the more elite dance team at my dance studio that you can only get invited in. These years of being on a dance team helped me grow and develop as a person. I have learned so much from being a dancer. Through dance I have learned life skills such as time management, having good communication, and being able to work with others as a team. Overall, dance has been a huge part of my life and I have learned so much and gained many life experiences that I can carry with me throughout my life.

Family

My biggest mentors in my life would be my parents. They have always been there for me to give me advice when I most needed it. They are also who helped me to form my passion for health and fitness and is why I am currently majoring in the health field. From a very young age my parents planted that seed in my mind that health and nutrition are very important and we should work hard to keep ourselves healthy. So, between growing up and watching my parents focus on their own health and then them supporting me throughout my fitness journey my parents have helped shaped my perspective on heath and nutrition. They are why I want to go into Personal Training and help other the way my parents helped me.

Dance Teachers

I have learned a lot throughout my time at my dance studio and I would not have kept up with dance if it was not for my dance teachers. My dance teachers have always pushed me to do my best and to be confident with who I am. When it comes to dance it is not always easy to go full out and be confident with yourself, but my dance teachers were always positive and gave great advice to help improve my performance. Once of my dance teachers in particular always liked to take a step further and do different activities to help improve our stamina when dancing. She even got some dancers together to run a 5k. She helped me to realized how important it was to train and workout to see our best performance on stage.

Alpha Chi Omega

I was not 100% sure with what I was doing when I COB into Alpha Chi Omega. I still was not sure if i wanted to be in it when I accepted their bid. However, as the weeks went on and I met with each of the girls individually the more I realized I belonged. I new that Alpha Chi Omega was going to change me for the better. Each of the girls were to kind and welcoming I felt to at home. Especially the processes with getting our Big Sisters it was to exciting and felt like one big family coming together. With only one semester with these girls I have already learned so much between having professionalism for our meetings, showing support for each other, as well as raising awareness for domestic violence which is the philanthropy for Alpha Chi Omega.
