Freshman Seminar Service Project

Buddy Walk Set Up
In my freshman seminar class we partnered up with Down Syndrome Indiana to help prepare for a buddy walk that will be taking place the following day that kids with down syndrome will be attending. This service project required for students to work together to help set up chairs and tables for the event. By following the vision and the pictures of how the advisor wanted them sett up we were able to set up for the event how she pictured it.
Learning Experience
Through this partnership I have learned that it takes a whole team who can communicate well to accomplish tasks on a well timely manner. This service project taught me to hear people out. It is also important to not cancel out all ideas and listen to other people's ideas to see how we can better improve the set up to make it the most utilizable for the kids who will be attending the buddy walk event. Overall, I learned that service projects make me feel good and I feel I am doing good to help others have a good time
